Eastbourne has 8 miles of coach travel and hireglorious coastline and 5 miles of promenade with a 1930’s Bandstand and an elegant Victorian Pier. Due to it’s position at the foot of the Downs the resort enjoys above average sunshine hours. Eastbourne Pier still retains much of its Edwardian splendour. It has panoramic views of Beachy Head and the seafront and also provides fun entertainment for all the family.

Eastbourne has no less than 8 glorious parks and gardens together with the world famous Carpet Gardens which are the centrepiece of the promenade. A Shingle Nature Reserve has also been created with almost 130 different species of wildflowers.

History was made on Eastbourne’s doorstep. William the Conqueror came ashore at Pevensey Castle before the famous Battle of Hastings in 1066. The site of the historic battle can be visited at Battle Abbey.

Eastbourne offers excellent shopping from high street names at the Eastbourne Arndale Centre and Terminus Road, to quirky and unique independent shops along the colourful and recently rejuvenated Seaside Road.

Art and crafts, antiques and modern interiors are also in abundance, visit the quaint old shopping streets of Little Chelsea or browse around the nearby Enterprise Centre, housed within a restored Victorian Railway building.
